HTC launched its best smartphone ever, but it doesn’t support European networks.
As expected, HTC has finally made official the awaited HTC Rezound during the New York City press event. The device, first in the USA with Beats Audio, is a real monster and has been defined “Ice Cream Sandwich ready”, meaning that it will be updated as soon as the new Android version is available (early 2012).
Confirmed the specs we already knew: 4.3-inch 720p HD display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory extendable via microSD, 8Mpx rear camera with wide-angle, aperture f/2.2, 1080p video capture and dual LED flash, 2Mpx front camera, 1630mAh battery, support to the 4G LTE networks. To complete the picture we have Beats Audio (including the in-ear urBeats headset) and HTC Sense 3.5 on Android Gingerbread which, as we said above, will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich within a few months.
The smartphone is going to be available in the next weeks at all Verizon stores in the USA, but it won’t be released across the ocean, at least not in this version and not in the near future. We’ll probably need to wait for the next Mobile World Congress at the end of February to see a GSM HD smartphone made by HTC.
